Our technology

Robot-Assisted Surgery (RAS)

Nami Surgical develops high-performance miniaturised ultrasonic scalpels for Robotic Assisted Surgery (RAS).

Robot-assisted surgery has become increasingly popular in recent years and is now widely used in various surgical procedures such as urology, gynaecology, and cardiology.

These surgeries are performed using robotic systems which provide the surgeon with improved dexterity and visualisation, leading to greater precision and reduced invasiveness. Despite its advantages, there are still some limitations which currently limit the situations in which RAS can be used and reduce its effectiveness.

Ultrasonic scalpels today

The gold standard instrument for over 80% of minimally invasive laparoscopic surgeries

The problem

Transducer size is the major disadvantage for RAS

  • Current technology is based on hand-held designs
  • Reduced safety
  • Lack of flexibility
  • Limited applicability/benefits of ultrasonics in RAS

High unmet clinical need confining millions of  procedures and affecting patient outcomes.

The Solution: Nami S

Miniaturised ultrasonic scalpel* enabling faster and safer RAS.

  • Co-developed with robotic surgeons.
